Tips on Etsy
Store Listing By Jenny
of loulou tutu

Like Etsy, Etsy and I sell, but as I Etsymom certainly not an infinite amount of time to create, sort, and publish. Sometimes I feel that it takes much time to list an item than to create. Fortunately, a friend of mine gave me the best advice is: make a stock listing! She told me create a file listing that would allow me unfinished "m'approvisionner" so I will not waste more time to list and publish every day or almost. Of course, I was troubled, but after a short course by phone, I was launched.

To store your own listing, create one as you normally do. Complete all sections, including descriptions, supplies, keywords, prices, shipments, and photos. When you reach the last page before you publish this listing in your shop instead of clicking on "Finish" copy and paste the URL into a word document or notepad and save this file to your PC.

I prefer to save mine in a Microsoft Word file, but it depends on your operating system, you can also choose Notepad or Text Edit to a Mac. when you are ready to use your listing, simply copy the URL of the document and copy it into your internet browser, check your, and click "Finish!"

is an excellent technique for all those who have Store seasonal or just a great way to be on top of this stuff!

Good luck and good stock listing!

Tutorial How to create and send a Paypal invoice

Although most of our sales will carry through Etsy, there will always be some situations where you need to send an invoice to a client. For example, for a transaction pat from the "Alchemy" where you need to collect half the payment before and the remaining half when the object is sent, or when a customer chooses error "another payment method" when actually he wanted pay by PayPal, or when you need to adjust the price without changing your listing. You can easily create and send invoices through PayPal. Everything you need is the email address of your customer.

Step 1 - When you logged into PayPal, click the "Billing" at the top.

Step 2 - Click on "Request payment". By choosing this you will be able to give much more information to your client as the quantity, item description, the unit price, shipping costs and others. This looks more like an itemized bill for your client if you just click on "Quick Request".

Step 3 - Select "Make an invoice" from the submenu and click "Continue".

Step 4 - On this page you will enter all the details of the transaction.

- The top of the form is devoted to details of the applicant and recipient.

- The bottom half is where you enter the invoice details. This includes currency,
type of billing (usually for "Goods" regarding items of Etsy), the subject and message in the mail for the customer, and details about each item included in the invoice. For each object, specify its quantity, its reference, description, unit price and if the item is subject to tax (eg if you need to add additional fees).

- Small red markers indicate required fields, but I suggest you put a subject for your message to your client even if not required.

- At the bottom of the form, specify the shipping costs that you want to add and e percentage of your costs. Costs transactions will be automatically calculated.

Step 5 - Once you learn all the details of the form, click "Continue".

Step 6 - You will see a preview of your final invoice. If everything looks OK, click "Send Invoice". It will be sent to the customer with a link to PayPal and instructions concerning the procedure of payment.

Step7 - After sending the invoice, you can choose to save the draft of the bill for future use. If you do this, you will simply reuse the information for the next bill without having to learn again all the details.

That's it! If you go back now to "My Account" you will see a tab in "My recent activity" for the bill you just sent. It will remain "Pending" until the buyer pays you.

Do you have a query or a suggestion to go for the next newsletter? Please leave me a message ... it was Maite (deTamsy Trends), Meagan (from baby Swank) etNikki (Nikki Rae Ink). Thank you!

The vendor's flagship Etsymom:
Metal Smitten

This month's featured vendor is Jess Etsymom of Bloomington, Indiana, the talent behind Smitten Metal (http : / / www.etsy.com / shop / metalsmitten ). Jess is a graduate silversmith with a BFA in jewelry and leisure-creative, and creates beautiful, unique, high quality sterling silver jewelry from scratch, using low-tech hand tools. You have to visit her shop! It has something for everyone!

~ * Tell us about you * ~

Hi! My name is Jess, and I am a young, small-time jeweler. I actually have a degree in "Creative Recreation," which I think is both awesome and hilarious, and I make silver jewelry for about six years now. I live in Indiana semi-rural in what I call my mini-farm, where I have some happy chickens and a large garden, and hopefully become self-sufficient as possible. Unable to find a "real job" last year, and exhausted by a decade of retail, I decided to try to stay at home all day to make a sparkling things in place, and I do have not looked back since. Stayed home all day allowed me to volunteer in a kennel, where I take care of adorable kittens, and I'm proud to get to. Yeah!

~ * What create / do you propose in your Etsy shop? * ~

I an eclectic mix of sterling silver jewelry , everything from pieces alleged artistic one-of-its-kind, simple charms daily and tiny rings, ultra-modern "Geek Chic" items with at least three symbols stamped on each. I try to offer a bit of everything, to a certain price range, so there ale hopefully an article for everyone! I make everything I sell with a small torch and hammers and other hand tools, there's nothing mechanical in my studio! I try to work with environmentally friendly materials that I find, also, recycled metals, beads, fair trade, and small jewelry boxes I use are made from recycled paper.

~ * How did you start your own business? * ~

Well, I went to art school, and then I realized I could not paint or do anything deep or artistic and therefore nothing to say. But I had a friend who had taken courses in metalwork, and as a crow with objects that shine, I was taped. The jewelry is fun because it is a form of art is still using skills and talent and dedication create something tangible and significant that did not exist previously -but the ultimate goal is to have fun and make beautiful things, to give a smile and that people feel good. There are no worries about the meaning of life. There is no craving to cut off his ear. Like my ears I can put earrings!

~ * Describe your creative process * ~

Well, at school we learn to meticulously sketching detailed drawings and measure the planned project . I tend to just watch a piece of metal or a nice stone for a while and then I mix it all in my mind until it works. Usually, it begins to "walk" at 2 o'clock in the morning just before going to bed, which is very convenient as you can imagine. I'm also a perfectionist spirit, so once I've really done a play, I spend a lot of time checking that everything is gold (metaphorically speaking, I only work with money). It is very important to me that the jewelry is fully functional, comfortable and durable as far as pretty. Congratulates me on my stone assembly, and I wear a lot of attention to make sure that nothing is ever rough cut, or unbalanced. Thus the form and function both play an important role in my creative process.

~ * Where do you find your inspiration? * ~

More often than not , I use the metal to improve a stone which I am accustomed . I tend to be very eclectic, but one day just amazed at new pictures of Art, and the next I feel ultra-modern, and the one after that I may be fascinated by clothing medieval type. I honestly believe that I watch too much late at night the historical chain.

~ * What is the section of your store that you prefer at the moment? * ~

It changes every week! Right now it is without doubt my Spoon Pendant!

~ * How do you promote your work? * ~ I

my promotion exclusively online, mainly by having conversations with nice people and trying to help, in general. I tell myself, as I hate pop-up ads, I will not do that sort of thing. I feel that my job is to produce valuable items, put them Listed in the appropriate places, and if people want them, he will buy them. Regarding self-promotion, being positive works better than despair seen ..

~ * What was the most important lesson you've learned since starting your business? * ~

Looking at things objectively, as if you were not emotionally tied to your business. Be ready and able to accept constructive criticism. Do not be afraid of change if something does not work, and do not be afraid of success if it works!

~ * What advice would you give to those just beginning? * ~

Never stop evolving. Do not get upset if things are slow when you start, take a step back, breathe, and think about what you could do during this downtime. If you just put everything up then sit and wait , or you're not going anywhere. Your photos can ALWAYS be better. Your products can always be diversified. Descriptions can always be improved. Your presence can be increased. Your pride in your work can be shown various ways. Do not remain inactive. Take any great Etsy seller and see first page of their sales, compare their "before" with their "Now", and understand that they also began a day.

~ * What can we find one online? * ~
