Unlock For Catan Citis And Knights

Summer Reading - proofreading Winter

For those interested in history, I would strongly recommend reading several books very interesting

"The strategic errors of the Third Reich during the Second World War" by Bernard Schnetzler Editions Economica

"The unforgivable defeat" by Claude Quétel the Penguin Press.

In the latter, we see how France, a winner of the Great War but bloodless, will gradually abdicates, common sense and courage to bogged down in infighting and dreams. Of failed policies and incompetent generals bring the greatest defeat of the country's history.

The installation of our most effective forces in Belgium and Holland, outside the protection of the Maginot line - despite the repeated discovery of precise German invasion plans - and the slow reaction to an invasion by the chaotic Ardennes (bottled columns of tanks rolling on a line and pushed into the ditch before the tanks failed to pass ...) are almost an anecdote, even if they tell us that despite all the defeat could still be avoided almost until the end.

About the first book, and among the principal errors of the 3rd Reich that I learned: campaign on too many fronts simultaneously at the beginning of the war with a campaign underwater very resource-intensive industry German war, which deprived the Eastern Front of the few Panzer divisions additional essential to victory. A Russian campaign ignorant of the weather: a simple cessation of operations in November 1941 and 1942 would probably have saved the German army, and finally a waste of resources that has left hundreds of thousands of soldiers in areas not -fighting (Non-repatriation of the troops of occupation of Jersey and Guernsey on the Normandy front is a small, telling example. That of occupation forces from Norway too, to a larger scale).

In summary, a campaign on too many fronts at once causing a dispersal of resources in the attack, and too ambitious, resulting in avoidable losses - until late 1942 - and paradoxically, a management too timid and too conservative in the second phase - from the Battle of Kursk.

One thing that should not be overlooked is the wear of Strength and battles of Poland and France were not the health walks designed by novices : Y Luftwaffe lost over 2,000 aircraft, the Wehrmacht 100,000 dead and 200,000 injured (more than Stalingrad). It is true then the fighting became titanic because at Kursk it was fired more rounds in one day during these four months of war.

On Arte, a very informative program on the history of oil. It's exciting to know that the U.S. industry delivers to Germany until 1941 the rare and essential chemicals for the production of synthetic gasoline without which the panzers could not invade Poland or France or the .

This is a reply to try to lobby U.S. noise at the station (also recall that the Americans let the Nazis take the law in the German prison camps in the U.S. until the end of the war, and the summary executions of prisoners wishing to turn away were legion, with the benevolent neutrality of their keeper. And they were not busy).

also interesting to know also that German engineers were unable to adapt oils Caucasus Germans as the engines were demanding in terms of quality, unlike diesel engines hardy Russian T34.
